HELEN JOYCE

I am something of a butterfly within my painting practice, moving between elements of Abstraction, Impressionism and Expressionism in seeking to find my right response to a place I have been.

In this age of computer generated images, the sensuous process of applying buttery colour, the scratching, scraping, mark making and the painterly quality is an important element of my paintings.

I have a degree in Fine Art from the University of Derby and now work from my home studio in Derby where visitors are welcome.
